A new online entry system will be in place for 2009 which should make it easier for everyone.

The SA Interschool Championships form part of the National Interschool program involving NSW, Vic, ACT, Qld & SA. (With possible future involvement from WA & Tas)

Place-getters are automatically eligible to compete in the National Championships held in NSW or Vic during September, see below.
This is the only SA event that provides eligibility to the National event.

SA INTERSCHOOLS WEEK ACTIVITIES

(Bourke St to be renamed "Rundle Mall" for the occasion!)

Monday: PM:  Opening ceremony.

Tuesday: PM: Teachers, managers and sponsors, cocktail hour at Breathtaker Hotel.

12:00 pm all entries close.

Wednesday: PM: Snowboard and Open Alpine competition.

Thursday: AM/PM: SA Interschool Championships, for Secondary and Primary alpine events.

Thursday evening: PM: SA Interschool Championships trophy presentation at the ABOM Restaurant.

The La Trobe University complex facilities offer a number of activities suitable for poor weather conditions and evenings. They include the snow sports museum, a cinema, screening the latest movies at various session times, a fully equipped gymnasium, a rock climbing wall and facilities for tennis and basketball. Arrangements can be made through the La Trobe University Mt Buller Phone 03 57337000.

The opportunity exists for students to try out other types of snow activities, including cross-country skiing and snowshoe walks. Schools will need to make separate arrangements for these activities with providers at Mt Buller.

LIFT TICKETS AND TRAINING PACKAGES

[Mt Buller's discounted packages are not available if bookings are made less than 14 days prior to the start of the SA Interschool Week]

Please make sure that you enter the SA Interschools prior to contacting Mt Buller for discounted lift and lessons etc. If in doubt contact SASKI. The packages assume that at least 50% of all groups enter the competition and you will need a registration number supplied by SASKI to take full advantage of the packages Mt Buller has to offer. Refer to Gerneral Information section.

Although the lift and lesson packages for SA schools have the same price structure as other school packages, the program for this week has been specifically tailored to suit the needs of SA school students, many of whom may only visit the snow fields once a year.

Mt Buller has an excellent ski school and race department.
Their combined effort will ensure that students from first timers to experienced skiers are appropriately catered for. The main emphasis is on having fun and enjoying the alpine snow experience.

A 5 day lift & lesson package is available for Primary students and for Secondary students at a special price. The Lift & Lesson booking form,is available from this site or can be obtained by contacting Mt Buller, Advance Sales and must be organised at least 4 weeks prior to your arrival date. They will also be pleased to advise on accommodation package prices and arrangements.

DISCOUNTS FOR SCHOOLS

The entry fee will include a voucher for drinks, food, ski hire and goods on the mountain.
These vouchers will be sent to Team Managers prior to departure for the Interschool Week or made available at Mt Buller.

Pension Grimus Ski Hire and Georges Ski Hire can offer SA Interschool students the latest skis and snowboards for hire at discounted rates, together with expert tuning at up to 30% off normal prices during this week.

National Interschool Championships

The first 5 place getters in each division are eligible to enter the Australian Interschool Snowsport Championships to be held in Victoria, Sept 2009.

All students wishing to compete in the Jarvis Subaru SA Interschool Snowsport Championships MUST enter via this site,  a registration number will be issued to groups, PO Box 50, North Adelaide, SA 5007, preferably before the closing day displayed on the poster and newsletter. Entries received prior to this date will be eligible for the the early-bird discount rate. Entries received after this date will be charged at the full rate.
